🌿 Current Initiatives & Community Updates
At Laguna Terrace Beautification, we believe that beauty isn’t just something you see — it’s something you create together. Every small act of care, from planting flowers to planning safer streets, helps shape the community we share. Below are the current projects and topics where your attention and participation make a difference.
🌳 1. San Remo Park — Final Design Review
The final draft revisions for San Remo Park’s long-awaited updates are being presented this Friday to LTBT, in collaboration with Ryan Hanley. This milestone marks a major step toward transforming the park into a more vibrant, accessible, and family-friendly gathering place. Stay tuned — we’ll be sharing visuals and details soon, including opportunities for community feedback before the final approval.
🏫 2. Oxford Prep Academy & Local Traffic Concerns
As the new Oxford Preparatory Academy prepares to open, LTBT is composing a formal letter addressing landscaping and traffic impact concerns. We’re advocating for smart, sustainable planning that preserves neighborhood safety and calm — emphasizing that Santa Maria and Santa Vittoria should serve as the primary traffic routes, not our smaller residential streets. This initiative underscores our commitment to a neighborhood that balances progress with preservation.
🎨 3. Ridge Route Wall Murals — Turning Graffiti into Art
What was once a target for graffiti along the Ridge Route wall on the southeast side of Laguna Terrace will soon become a living canvas of local heritage. New murals are being designed to celebrate the history, people, and services of Laguna Hills — transforming blight into beauty, and tagging into storytelling. This is beautification with a purpose: art as a form of community pride and protection.
🌺 4. Plant Donations — Small Gifts, Big Growth
The response to our community planting program has been incredible! Every donated plant — from succulents to shade trees — is helping to restore and color our public spaces. You can contribute by leaving plants on Teramo Hill near Pesaro, where our volunteers gather donations for upcoming beautification projects. It’s proof that generosity grows where community roots run deep.
🗳️ 5. Redistricting — A New Chapter for North Laguna
The City Council’s new districting plan is reshaping how local voices are represented. For North Laguna residents, this change presents both ramifications and opportunities — from more direct advocacy on neighborhood issues to increased accountability for local decisions. LTBT invites you to stay informed, participate in upcoming discussions, and consider how districting can empower our shared vision for a cleaner, safer, and more beautiful community.
