Details of the Plein Air Contest
WHAT: Foster community engagement with California Native plants and apply paint, or chalk, or charcoal to capture the beauty of existing landscape in Laguna Terrace.
WHY: Community attendance in the hundreds and acknowledgment of the sponsors who help the community will support heightened awareness and appreciation of the existing beauty.
HOW: The media is expected to enlarge the impact ten-fold for the sponsors, and the artists will compete from at least 6 organizations.
WHEN: Sponsors will set up on May 11th in the early morning, and artists will arrive beginning at 8 AM lasting till as late as 5 pm, plus
WINNING the contest: Judges will produce a ranking of the art for display at the Laguna Hills Community Meeting Center (with sponsor acknowledgements) and announce results at the City Councils of Laguna Hills and Laguna Woods, then display top ten at Moulton Museum and Laguna Beach Cultural Arts Center. Sponsors will attend reception parties.
